how-to : weaving with a grocery bag

I sometimes daydream of having a video library of techniques that I have adapted to use with waste plastics and other unconventional art materials. I have been weaving grocery bags using a Kumihimo disc lately and thought it was the perfect place to start!

Currently, I am creating the cord using the Kumihimo disc and strips of grocery bag plastic. Then I play around with knots to make earrings, rings, and necklaces. I love the big necklace pendant. It feels like armor, and though it is light, it provides a really comforting pressure on the chest.

Make sure to follow me on youtube or sign up for my email list (or both) to find out when I post the next how-to video.
